As the Lead UX Designer for The Sis Kiss, a Cleveland-based jewelry brand known for its bold and empowering identity, I spearheaded a full website redesign aimed at optimizing user experience and driving measurable business outcomes. By collaborating with key stakeholders and applying strategic user research, we redefined the website’s structure and design to elevate both functionality and brand perception. This project not only improved overall site usability but also contributed to significant increases in user retention and return on investment (ROI).

The Problem
The Sis Kiss is a bold jewelry brand. They sought a website redesign. After years of collaboration on their marketing, they needed a site that better engaged users and represented their brand. Their existing website worked, but it wasn’t maximizing engagement or reflecting the brand’s full identity. Key challenges included improving user flow and optimizing conversion rates while balancing playful and professional tones. Our goal was clear: create a seamless digital experience that enhanced usability and navigation. At the same time, we needed to keep the brand’s unique personality front and center.
Objectives
We began with an in-depth analysis of the existing website to identify friction points and areas for optimization. This included user research, competitor analysis, and stakeholder interviews. Armed with these insights, I collaborated with our team to develop a new site architecture, using tools like wireframes and site maps to visualize the proposed changes.
I worked closely with The Sis Kiss to ensure we stayed true to their brand guidelines, while also pushing boundaries to elevate their digital presence. This meant balancing the brand’s fun, bold personality with a polished, intuitive design. Key milestones included developing prototypes, user testing iterations, and gathering feedback from stakeholders to fine-tune the user journey.
The Design
The result was a redesigned website that significantly improved the user experience. By refining the site’s structure, we streamlined navigation, making it easier for customers to discover and purchase products. I introduced delightful design elements that emphasized The Sis Kiss's unique identity without sacrificing professionalism.
Key features of the new design include:
A more intuitive navigation system, supported by a thoughtfully designed site map that aligns with user behaviors.
Clean and responsive wireframes that prioritized mobile experience, a critical factor for The Sis Kiss’s largely mobile-driven audience.
Enhanced product pages with clearer calls to action, leading to increased conversions and user engagement.
Several fun animated elements and custom “sticker” icons.
Throughout the redesign, I collaborated with our team of developers to make sure we used Shopify’s flexibility to integrate custom elements that met the client’s needs while leveraging best practices for e-commerce.
The project demonstrated our ability to combine user-centered design with a deep understanding of the brand’s goals, leading to measurable success in increasing ROI and audience retention.
“Jared has designed for TSK before and understood the assignment! He came in with great ideas, made some really cool animations and worked so hard to make some awesome designs functional for the client to see! He spent time listening to the client feedback and thoughtfully responding with his UI/UX recommendations. Pushing back when needed but also collaborating with them really well.”
